Wouter Rombach and Jozien Obèr are the hosts of Gîtes & Chambre d’Hôtes Le Baou.
The property features two comfortable vacation homes (gîtes) and a cozy apartment located in a private part of Wouter and Jozien’s house. All accommodations offer plenty of privacy, making Le Baou an ideal choice for those new to naturism.

Le Baou is tucked away in a valley between the villages of Bargemon and Claviers, in the green heart of the Var department, just northeast of Draguignan. Its location is very convenient, about halfway between the Côte d’Azur coastline and the famous Gorges du Verdon, both roughly an hour’s drive away.

How many accommodations are there at Le Baou?

Le Baou offers three accommodations: two stand-alone vacation homes and one apartment located in a private part of Wouter and Jozien’s house. Altogether, the property can host up to 10 guests; each vacation home sleeps 4 people, and the apartment is perfect for 2.

Is Le Baou open all year round?

Yes, we're open throughout the year. In spring, once the pool is heated, we start welcoming naturist guests. That continues into the fall, as long as the weather is pleasant. When it gets cooler, naturism is usually no longer part of the experience, but Le Baou still offers a peaceful and relaxing stay surrounded by nature.

What kind of guests do you welcome at Le Baou?

We welcome people from all over, though many of our guests come from the Netherlands and Belgium. You'll find all ages here; from young couples to older guests. Quite a few are in their 50s and trying a naturist vacation for the first time, often now that the kids have left home. So it's not just experienced naturists; we also host lots of first-timers who are curious and want to try it in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

Do you offer any wellness facilities besides the pool?

Starting in spring, our pool is heated, perfect for enjoying a nude swim early in the season. We also have a sauna, and Jozien offers relaxing massages on request. It’s a wonderful way to unwind and fully recharge during your stay.

Do you have any recommendations for the area?

We always suggest our guests visit the Gorges du Verdon, often called the Grand Canyon of Provence. It’s truly spectacular. Nearby, you’ll find charming Provençal villages perfect for strolling around, visiting a local market, or enjoying a drink on a sunny terrace. And if you love the beach, the Mediterranean Sea is less than an hour’s drive from Le Baou.
