A
green oasis for naturists
Campsite De Brongaard is a friendly and welcoming
naturist campsite in Hellevoetsluis, located on the island of Voorne-Putten in
South Holland. Where once there was only an empty meadow, the members of Naturisten Vereniging Hellevoetsluis(N.V.H.), with dedication, enthusiasm
and a passion for naturism, have created a green oasis.
Now in its 44th year, De Brongaard is a home for naturists who value peace,
nature and friendly togetherness. From the moment you arrive, you notice this
is not just any campsite, but a place lovingly built by and for the members
themselves; a paradise with ponds, trees and quiet corners.
A members’ ground with
a unique story
De Brongaard has a
rich history. When the association lost its first location in Hellevoetsluis,
the members refused to give up. With commitment and enthusiasm, they started
from scratch to build a new site. The triangular plot once served as farmland,
and in the distant past, even as an airfield.
The ponds were excavated by a professional company and
the soil that was removed was used to create a bank, which was later carefully
planted. The clubhouse, the canteen, was built with a lot of help from
volunteers. The design was created by an architect, but the construction itself
was largely carried out by the members.
What began as an empty field has, through joint
effort, grown into a paradise where peace, nature and community go hand in
hand. In 2026 the association will celebrate its 45th anniversary; an impressive milestone showing what perseverance
and cooperation can achieve.
Camping in nature
De Brongaard offers a wide range of camping options.
There are 56 permanent pitches for members, plus a guest field. This guest
field includes 3 seasonal/waiting pitches with a hard surface, 5 pitches for (small) motorhomes
with a hardened surface, 13 caravan and
tent pitches and 1 small tent pitch. All pitches are equipped with electricity.
In addition, there are 4 more guest pitches elsewhere on the grounds, also with
electricity. Six paved spots for motorhomes are available by the swimming pond.
Each pitch
allows up to two leashed dogs. Multiple water points are spread across the
grounds, so there is always one nearby. The campsite is largely car-free,
ensuring peace and safety everywhere. An AED is available at a central point
near the bridge.
For members waiting for a permanent pitch, there are
three seasonal/waiting places each year, allowing them to enjoy the site for a
full season.
Swimming, relaxing and
being together
On warm summer days, the natural swimming pond with
its sandy beach is the place to be. The water quality is checked every two
weeks by an independent laboratory, so you can always take a refreshing swim
with peace of mind.
For relaxation, there is the sauna, traditionally
heated on Friday evenings; a highlight many members and guests look forward to.
If used at other times, for example during poor weather, this is always
communicated clearly to everyone present.
Modern sanitary
facilities
Centrally located on the grounds is the spacious
sanitary building, ecologically cleaned by members themselves. The shower area
has underfloor heating and seven showers. In addition, there are six
washbasins, five dishwashing stations, five toilets, two urinals and a toilet
with shower for people with reduced mobility.
Other practical facilities include a washing machine
and dryer (for a fee), a shared refrigerator and a chemical toilet disposal
point. De Brongaard proudly carries the ECO hygiene certificate, guaranteeing a
clean and sustainable approach.
Heart of the association
- ‘De Bron’
The clubhouse ‘De Bron’ is the beating heart of the
campsite. Here you can share a coffee on Sunday morning, play a game or enjoy a
drink on the sunny terrace. Various social activities are organized here and
announced on the notice boards.
The bar
operates with a prepaid card system and offers soft drinks, beer, wine,
alcohol-free beer and ice cream. Payment is by card only. Inside, you will also
find a small library, board games, a dartboard and of course space to relax
with coffee or tea. Every Sunday at 11 a.m. there is the traditional coffee
moment, a cherished weekly gathering for both members and guests.
For young and old
De Brongaard also offers plenty of recreational
opportunities. There are 4
boules/pétanque courts, several playgrounds, 2 trampolines
and even a swan-shaped pedal boat. Children love playing at the little beach,
where buckets and spades are available for fun in the sand and water. Whether
you’re looking for peace, nature or sociability, there is always something to
enjoy for all ages.
Practical information
The reception service welcomes visitors daily between 9:00 and 12:00 and
between 13:00 and 18:00. Check-in is possible between 13:00 and 17:00; guests
are kindly requested to check out before 12:00.
Within walking distance, you’ll find a supermarket, a
flower shop and a snack bar. The shopping center ‘De Struytse Hoeck’ is only a
ten-minute bike ride away. Right next to the campsite lies the ‘Kooisteebos’, a
beautiful walking area where dogs are also welcome.
“We
feel completely at home here, maybe even more than in our own house; it’s a
place where you can truly unwind.”
