Peace and quiet in the Lot
Le Clos Barrat isn’t your typical naturist
campsite. It’s a peaceful, spacious retreat in the lush landscape of the Lot,
where you can truly escape the rush of daily life. You won’t find crowded
fields or a busy entertainment schedule here, but instead a well-maintained
site full of character. From the moment you arrive, you feel the difference:
simplicity, nature, and relaxed camping are at the core of the experience.
There’s ample space to enjoy the outdoors; without haste, without schedules.
Spacious
camping in nature
Le Clos Barrat stretches across 10 hectares and
offers 65 spacious pitches, scattered over open meadows and shady woodland
areas. You choose your own spot - in the sun or beneath the trees - always with
a sense of privacy. Camping here is simple and natural, with plenty of room
around you and birdsong in the background.
Comfortable
rental options
If you’re after a bit more comfort, the site
offers four modern mobile homes and two cozy studios housed in a former
sheepfold. Thoughtfully renovated, these rentals provide the convenience of a
holiday home in the heart of nature. It’s the best of both worlds: the
tranquility of camping with a touch of comfort.
Fun
and relaxation in the sun
At the
heart of the campsite, you’ll find the solar-heated swimming pool. Surrounded
by comfortable loungers and parasols, it also features a shallow children’s
pool, ideal for families with young kids.
Active and relaxed If you like to stay active, the grounds provide ample
opportunities: a volleyball court, badminton, pétanque, and table tennis.
Children will enjoy the playground and trampoline, and in the summer months,
fun children’s activities
Wellness and
shared moments
Le Clos Barrat also offers a wellness touch:
Emmanuelle leads yoga, qigong, and meditation sessions several times a week. Open
to all, regardless of experience. You can also book a massage or unwind in the
sauna or hammam.
Community dinners such as barbecues or local
cuisine evenings are organized regularly, providing an informal setting to
connect with other guests. The small on-site shop stocks local products, fresh
bread, ice cream, coffee, and other basics. Indoors, there’s a cozy lounge with
board games, books, and table football.
For nature lovers, there are guided walks
offering insight into local flora, fauna, and medicinal plants. Creative guests
can join painting workshops or enjoy music nights under the stars.
Well-maintained
facilities
Sanitary facilities are modern and well-kept, with extras for families (such as
baby changing facilities) and guests with disabilities. Washing machines and
dryers are available, and there’s a charging point for electric cars. Cyclists
will appreciate the secure bike shed and charging points for e-bikes.
Explore the
peaceful surroundings
The area surrounding Le Clos Barrat is equally tranquil, featuring a varied
landscape of sunflower fields, forests, and gentle hills. It’s perfect for
walking or cycling, often without meeting many others. Nearby, you’ll find
charming villages like Montcuq and Penne-d’Agenais with its striking
Notre-Dame-de-Peyragude. The historic city of Cahors is also within easy reach,
known for its famous bridge, inviting town center, and wineries. For those
seeking refreshment, the Lot River is close by; ideal for swimming, picnicking,
or canoeing.
A relaxed
atmosphere and small-scale activities
The atmosphere at Le Clos Barrat is laid-back
and unforced. There’s no rigid entertainment program, but rather small-scale
activities in tune with the rhythm of the place. Think yoga in the open air, a
walk in the countryside, a shared meal with organic regional produce, or a
relaxed evening by the campfire. Participation is always optional: join in if
you feel like it, but nothing is ever required. Whether you’re reading a book
under a tree, taking a dip in the pool, or gazing at the stars; peace is never
far away.
Warm
hospitality and dedication
Emmanuelle and Nicolas, the warm-hearted owners,
make every guest feel at home. They take time to share their passion for the land
and the animals living here. For them, this is more than just a campsite, it’s
a little paradise they care for with love and attention. Thanks to their
dedication and genuine hospitality, many guests leave recharged and fulfilled.
Sustainability
in practice
Sustainability is naturally embedded at Le Clos Barrat. Water and energy are
used mindfully, with solar boilers and minimal lighting around the grounds.
Waste is separated and reused where possible. The terrain has been left in its
natural state as much as possible, giving space to plants and wildlife. At
communal meals, seasonal and local products are used. Sustainability isn’t a
grand statement here; it’s simply part of everyday life.
A place to
truly unwind
Above all, Le Clos Barrat is a place to slow down. No overstimulation, no
packed schedules; just peaceful, natural camping.
Or, as the owners like to say: “Here, you can hear the butterflies sing”.
And that might just say it all. If you’re looking for simplicity, space, and
heartfelt hospitality, Le Clos Barrat is a uniquely soothing destination.
“We’re excited to introduce new activities, like creative art workshops and exploring wild, edible plants. Just give us a little time; we’re building this step by step.”
