France: Camping Le Marcassin

Camping Le Marcassin is looking for a new owner
Where once a farm stood, naturists now enjoy this beautiful and natural part of France.

When we started this adventure in 2022, we had not known each other for very long. We wanted to do something nice with the last phase of our working lives. Given our age, it was already clear to us that we probably would not stay here for long, but we have not regretted it for a moment. Only regret that we could not do this sooner. We enjoy this beautiful place and we meet many lovely people.

At the time, we opted for a small campsite because we wanted to do all the work ourselves. It suits us like a glove. Cooking twice a week, cleaning, organising walking weeks, working in the countryside but above all, making our guests happy.

Every year, more guests come to Le Marcassin. There is a lot of interest in our meals, so there is certainly more potential here. There is a permit to build an extra chalet. Setting up a sauna, yoga or massage offers possibilities.

We have often said to each other, when are we going to hand over the baton again. Then we parked this thought again. The reality is that we are secretly heading towards retirement and the entire process of a sale could possibly take a long time.

We are going to do it, we are putting the campsite up for sale. Someone is now walking around somewhere who will soon make a dream come true here. We are now working every day with pleasure and enthusiasm to make Le Marcassin an even more beautiful place. Because this place will always remain in whatever form. We are passers-by who now take care of Le Marcassin and give it colour together with our guests.

Naturist camping Le Marcassin is a small-scale, quiet, atmospheric naturist camping in the southeast of the Dordogne on the border with the Lot. The 1.3 hectare terrain is playful and naturally designed.

Camping Le Marcassin has 21 camping pitches and three rental chalets. In addition, guests can use a rental tent or rental caravan. The campsite has a large swimming pool (12 x 6 metres) with a terrace, two sanitary blocks, one of which is adapted for people with disabilities.

At naturist campsite Le Marcassin in the Dordogne, France, you can completely get away from it all. A place where, after all the obligations in your life, you just have to enjoy yourself and do nothing. Peace and space, two concepts that perfectly describe this area in short.

The Dordogne is a beautiful, hilly landscape where you can enjoy walking, cycling or running. Or settle down on a terrace in a typical French village, or you can stay at the campsite for a day. Read that book that you never got around to, cool off in our lovely swimming pool, eat an ice cream or have a chat on the terrace. In short, come to yourself, feel that you are happy with life or reflect on how you still want to live a little differently. Camping Le Marcassin offers you the ideal environment for this.

At Le Marcassin there are regular communal meals. Six times a week you can order bread; in the morning the croissants, pains au chocolat and other bread are ready for you. Freshly baked by our baker in Saint Martial de Nabirat.

Le Marcassin has an extensive library full of books, magazines, walking and cycling routes and tips for excursions in the area. The books can be borrowed for free. Not finished your borrowed book when you leave? Then you can simply take it home with you. In the canteen of Le Marcassin you can get your own drink, cup of coffee or ice cream.
